The Forge checks every record against a trust schema agreed with the people who rely on it: buyers, auditors, lenders. Device identity, calibration, location, cross-checks and stream continuity each add to the record's rating. Missing evidence shows up as a gap, not a silent pass.

Sensors cannot explain a planned shutdown or a manual override. People and AI agents can add signed annotations that give the context, and the rating updates everywhere that record is used. Ratings roll up from record to sensor, site and company.
How Demia's data streams work.
Every data source gets its own private stream on the Fabric, encrypted and controlled by the data owner. New readings are published to it as signed messages, in order. Only people and systems the owner approves can subscribe and read them. Nothing is overwritten: any change is logged as a new entry, so the full history stays visible.
Works where connectivity doesn't.
Mine sites, offshore platforms, and forward operating bases often have intermittent or zero connectivity. The Forge operates offline, caching signed records locally and syncing when a link is available. Records publish to their stream in the original order, so nothing is lost or slipped in during the gap.
Hardware root of trust for high-assurance deployments.
The Forge integrates with HSMs and TPMs to bind signing keys to physical devices, so a cloned sensor cannot produce a valid signature and keys cannot be extracted from the device.
