The machine-readable record that travels with the product.

From 18 February 2027, EV, light transport and industrial batteries over 2 kWh need an EU battery passport. It must be a structured, verifiable record, not a PDF. Demia builds it from the same signed data behind your EACs and your origin, CBAM and DFARS reporting.

Four compliance outputs. One data project.

EU DPP, CBAM annual declaration, EU Battery Passport, and DFARS 252.225-7052 attestation all draw from the same underlying provenance record. Demia builds that record once, at the point of production, so it satisfies multiple regulatory requirements without a parallel data project for each framework.

Mapped to the EU battery passport, field by field.

Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 sets what a battery passport carries: identity and composition, carbon footprint, due diligence, recycled content, performance and end-of-life information. Demia maps each field to its source and shows which ones are backed by signed, traced data and which are still declarations.

The right fields for the right reader.

The passport has three access tiers. The public sees what the QR code shows. Recyclers, repairers and supply-chain partners with a legitimate interest see more. Authorities see everything they need to test conformity. Demia enforces those tiers in the Fabric, not in a spreadsheet.

A PDF certificate of origin does not satisfy DPP.

The EU DPP requires a machine-readable, structured record, containing provenance data, material composition, embedded emissions, and sustainability attributes, structured to a defined schema. Demia's platform produces the structured DPP data object directly from the instrumented data layer.

EACs, CBAM and the DPP draw on the same data.

The data behind an environmental attribute certificate (EAC) is the data CBAM reporting needs and the data the DPP carries. Demia captures and verifies it once. EACs cover all your output, CBAM covers the EU-bound share, and the passport travels with each product. There is no second instrumentation project.

CBAM: measured figures carry lower penalty cost.

CBAM declarations based on estimated emissions carry a penalty cost against measured and verified ones. Demia's platform produces embedded emissions per shipment, derived from signed, auditable source data, so the CBAM declaration is a structured report, not a guess.

DFARS: the same provenance layer, a second jurisdiction.

For producers with exposure to US defense procurement, DFARS 252.225-7052 requires verified origin for covered materials, and from 01 Jan 2027 that reaches back to the mine. The provenance infrastructure satisfying EU DPP and CBAM also underpins DFARS-compliant attestation: one build, two jurisdictions.
